La Provision
BY WHOLESOME RISE
Welcome to Wholesome Rise — Rebranding as a storefront you’ll soon call: La Provision
We began as a micro bakery, and because of your support we’re excited to open our doors at 2A Park Avenue East in the heart of Elmira. We’ll continue the small-batch, sourdough-first methods you love and keep the same systems that work for us and for you. An internal collab that we are rebranding in order to introduce our new expanded shopping experience. Launching January 23rd, join us for our Grand Opening from 12:00pm until sold out!
How we’ll operate
Self-serve, honour-system bakery: shop and browse at your own pace. We won’t pressure you to buy — take your time and choose what you want.
Self-checkout kiosk: a fully integrated system for quick, contactless payment. Note: we accept cash but cannot provide change, so please use exact amounts or card payment.
Community trust: our model depends on mutual respect. We trust you, and hope you’ll continue to let us.
Hours and offerings
Fridays: 12:00–6:00 — artisan sourdough breads, bagels, English muffins and more.
Saturdays: 10:00–5:00 — our signature loaves plus an expanded selection of pastries and sweets (yes, our famous cinnamon rolls), all sourdough.
As we grow we’ll be adding more self-shop grocery items to bring organic, wholesome, real foods closer to home right along side your fresh baked goodies. Expect items like grass-fed milk and butter, snacks made without seed oils, and other thoughtfully chosen groceries — all to make healthy eating easier without leaving the city.
Special feature in our bakery:
Pink Grandma’s Fridge: ready-to-go organic sourdough sandwiches and premade parfaits and other great made in house meals for quick, wholesome meals.
We basically want our community to feel like they are going shopping at grandma’s house; fresh bread, meals made with love, all with the intention to fill your bellies (the right way)
Thank you for helping us rise. We look forward to welcoming you at 2A Park Avenue East.
The Meaning behind La Provision
La Provision embodies a clear, intentional promise: to feed and provide for our community with real food that nourishes and supports life. The name combines the practical — provisions as supplies and sustenance — with a deeper commitment to how those supplies are sourced, prepared and shared. Our goal is to offer food that does not harm, but fuels: ingredients chosen for their simplicity, transparency and positive effect on body and mind. Every loaf, every product, every gesture of service is made to sustain daily life and to bring small, steady joy.
Provision as a way of life: Feeding the community: We see food as a responsibility. Providing means more than selling; it means caring about the nutritional value, the ethical sourcing and the long-term wellbeing of those we serve.
The name also carries a gentle echo of biblical provision — the idea of being cared for and supplied with what is necessary. This is not a religious statement in your face, but a respectful reference to an age-old concept of being sustained.
La Provision is both promise and practice: to provide real, wholesome food that fuels life, and to do so with the quiet integrity and care that the word “provision” — in all its meanings — suggests.

Our Process
-

The Sourdough Promise
If it’s baked by us, it’s sourdough. All of our recipes are converted favourites into gut-friendly sourdough. From the loaves to the cookies, we guarantee it’s sourdough.
-

Gut Friendly Fermenting
Majority of our sourdough products go through an extensive fermentation process, in order to break down gluten and provide the most for your gut.
-

Quality, Always.
If a batch isn’t up to par, we won’t put it on the shelves. If they end up on the shelves and we aren’t aware, we’ll refund your money. We aren’t here to deliver unpredictability.
-

Local Community First
As we expand, we hope to always support our local community. Whether that be through hiring locals, or purchasing our supplies from them. We believe in a full circle community, where we all supply one another - like it used to be.
